Gov. Northam decides to stop suspending drivers licenses for unpaid fines and costs

I applaud Gov. Northam's decision to stop suspending drivers licenses for unpaid fines and costs. This is a policy that I have advocated for years and is real criminal justice reform that helps the more than 600,000 individuals who lost their licenses for failure to pay. The General Assembly now needs to go further and stop suspending licenses for offenses unrelated to drugged, drunk, or dangerous driving.
