Check out one of AAH’s rising stars – Nancy Wandeka!
She is a senior six student at one of Uganda’s best schools, Iganga secondary school, and is sponsored by Theo and her family.
Nancy attended same schools like I did in my prime. Tororo girls for O-level and Iganga girls SS for A-level. She’s a very active student leader – Library prefect and knows how to discuss and debate a subject really well. She dreams of being a lawyer or a teacher one day. While visiting AAH in February, JoAnn, Chip and I passed her school and she mobilized others so we could visit with them at short notice. She’s very well liked at her school and has a reputation as good leader and a hard worker.
Last week, she represented her school at the regional debate competitions and her school emerged as the winner of the debate tournament and Nancy as the best speaker overall for the competitions. Her teacher, who we met, was very proud of her and has shared Nancy’s picture below while being awarded a medal for outstanding performance. She will represent the region at the national level.
